| NewsDTD's THON Child Donates Money in Honor of JoePa From the January 30 issue of The Daily Collegian... An exuberant 12-year-old Dylan Moser -- waving, jumping and hollering on the front porch of his house -- greeted members of Delta Zeta and Delta Tau Delta who turned out to celebrate the birthday of their THON child. Upon stepping out of their vehicles, Dylan quickly ushered his Penn State friends into his room, where he showed them his new toys he got for his birthday. But he didn't mention the $95 he received for his birthday, because he decided to donate all of it to THON in honor of late football coach Joe Paterno. Click here to read the full story. Tell Us Your THON Story! THON undoubtedly has a great impact not only on the kids, but on students, alumni and the Penn State community. There is always a lot of talk about THON and every story and experience is important. So, we want to hear from YOU. What is/was the most rewarding part of your THON experience? Post your story on the message board. Even More Happy as a Delt Alum Years after graduation, Mike Heckenberger ’80 says he wouldn’t make the trip back to State College if it weren’t for his home there at the Delt house. One time he did make it back was for the 2007 reunion, which reunited over 20 brothers from Mike’s era, a memory he cherishes. Click on the headline to read more about Mike’s experiences with DTD. The DTD Love Connection With Valentine's Day approaching, we thought we'd get in the spirit and ask our alumni if any of them met their spouses or significant others thanks to DTD. If you did, please share your love stories, and read other brothers', on the message board. Finding Comfort in Our Community “In a cold world, you still need your friends to keep you warm.” (The Big Chill, 1983) As we say goodbye to Coach Paterno, Penn Staters everywhere can take comfort in friends and in the deep sense of community that we are so fortunate to enjoy as Penn State alumni. Looking back, Joe played a role in the best times of our lives – from tailgating to Bowl trips to games at Beaver Stadium. For many of us, they still continue to this day. Joe’s passing reminds us of what is most important in life: our lifelong connections to those who mean the most, including our brothers. There are plenty of opportunities to celebrate being a part of the Penn State community with the friends you met there: THON – February 17-19. You can honor Joe’s wish (a fraternity guy himself) by making a donation to this great cause.
